Waldron Y Holiday Open House Dec. 10

All are invited to our Waldron Y Holiday Open House on Dec. 10 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Click here to view the invitation.

We are excited about this opportunity to give you a preview of changes to come when the YMCA at Virginia Tech begins operating the Waldron Family YMCA in January.

Among the new offerings we’ll be showcasing:

  • KidZone, where elementary and middle school-age children can play while parents participate in a Y class. KidZone, which will be open in the evenings Monday through Thursday and Saturday mornings, will be based in the recreation center but take advantage of other Meadowbrook stakeholders such as the library.
  • Meadowbrook Market, where you can buy items created by members of the Shawsville Farmer’s Market and EastMont Arts Association.
  • New Fitness Classes that you’ll be able to sample as part of our enhanced fitness class schedule.
  • Spring 2010 Y Open University schedule featuring arts, crafts, dance, music, educational programs, hikes and day trips based out of Meadowbrook.
  • Plans for the Pottery Studio which we hope to open in 2010 at Meadowbrook.

One thing that won’t change will be your membership dues, still just $47/month for a family and $31/month for an individual. (Any current membership benefits you enjoy with the YMCA of Roanoke Valley will not change for 2010.)

But now as part of your Waldron Y membership, you will be entitled to the benefits of the YMCA at Virginia Tech basic community membership, which include 10 percent discounts on Y thrift store purchases and all Y programs and classes!
